ITER Visit
The ITER puts into operation the supercomputer Anaga, specialized in artificial intelligence.
Join us on this guided tour of ITER.
ITER has a Visitor Center, a Renewable Energy Walkway, or leading facilities such as the TEIDEHPC or the D-ALiX data center. These various facilities bring people of all ages closer to the fascinating world of renewable energies and technological advances.
Come with us on Tuesday May 7th from 17.00 to 18:00 or Wednesday May 8th from 16.00 to 17.00 and don't lose the chance to visit these exciting and interesting facilities. We only have places for 20 participants per day, sign up now and don't miss it!
AVISO: El transporte correrá por cuenta de los asistentes. Desde la organización se intentará proveer de algunos medios de transporte, pero no hay nada asegurado.
TEIDE HPC
Three types of computing platforms are available:
- 1028-node Sandy Bridge platforms with two Intel Xeon E5-2670 processors 32 GB / 64 GB of memory
- 72-node Ivy Bridge platforms with two Intel Xeon E5-2670v2 processors 32 GB of memory
- Fat nodes, 3 nodes with four Intel Xeon E5-4620 processors 256 GB of memory
NetApp storage with a capacity of 2.1 PB net, configured in cluster format with all elements redundant to deal with possible hardware failures, with global spare disks.
Lustre parallel storage will also be available for applications requiring a high number of I/O operations.
Teide-HPC has a network topology where four specific purpose networks are defined. A dedicated storage network, a dedicated management network, an out of band network and a low latency Infiniband QDR network at 40Gbps for computation.
As security measures, TeideHPC has IPSec tunnels, VPN connections and the possibility of establishing private VLANs for its clients.
TeideHPC connects to the Internet through the Spanish academic and research network, RedIris, via a 10 Gb link. It also has connectivity through the ALiX project.
For data transfers, transfer nodes are available, allowing large amounts of data to be copied to user space by directly accessing the data backbone.
D-ALIX
One of the differentiating elements of our datacenter is its location. D-ALiX is located on the grounds of the Institute of Technology and Renewable Energy, next to the Science and Technology Park of Granadilla. In addition, the Reina Sofia airport (Tenerife South) is less than 10km away and a future seaport of Granadilla is nearby. A second airport, Los Rodeos (Tenerife North), is less than an hour's drive away and the seaport of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is just over 50 km away. There is easy access to the facilities via the TF1 highway, which facilitates access for company personnel and our clients.
Neutrality
Its strong neutral character gives our customers the possibility to choose their connectivity provider freely. This feature, together with the facilities that serve as a submarine cable mooring station, makes D-ALiX the world's first neutral submarine cable station.
Reliability level
D-ALiX meets the requirements of the international data center market with TIER III+ installations, obtaining TIER IV configuration in the electrical system.
Modularity
A data center must be designed in a completely modular way, so that successive expansions can be executed in the most flexible and effective way, in order to avoid losing new customers and remain stagnant in its first phase indefinitely. On the other hand, a high scalability allows to adapt to each new customer, optimizing the necessary investment according to their requirements.
D-ALiX is installed inside a reinforced industrial building, under the concept of “bunker within a bunker”. This concept, in addition to reducing the necessary investments (CAPEX) while maintaining the required quality levels, results in greater modularity as a datacenter is designed to grow horizontally instead of floor by floor. All this in turn allows a reduction in operational expenses (OPEX).
